Yehuda Tamari, the son of lifetime member Max Tamari, celebrated his 80th birthday
Last month marked a poignant occasion at the corps as Yehuda Tamari, the son of lifetime member Max Tamari, celebrated his 80th birthday surrounded by family and cherished memories.
The visit, orchestrated by Yehuda's daughter, Rachel Tamari Chesler, was a nostalgic journey through the corridors of Bayside, rekindling the camaraderie Max and Yehuda had shared within the corps.
As a limo bus pulled up, over 20 family members disembarked, ready to join the heartfelt celebration. I had the honor of guiding them through the corps, weaving tales of its rich history. The tour culminated with a special presentation to Yehuda – a Ten Year Shield adorned with our corps patch, complemented by a gold nameplate proudly declaring Max Tamari as a lifetime member. In addition to this token of appreciation, Yehuda received a Challenge Coin, symbolizing his enduring commitment.
Not forgetting the rest of the family, each member was bestowed with a corps patch, a tangible reminder of the ties that bind. The significance of Max Tamari's service to the Corps was highlighted as we dedicated the 90 bus in his honor, a tribute resonating through the corridors and beyond.
In expressing gratitude, I extend heartfelt thanks to the Tamari family for creating a memorable occasion that celebrated not only Yehuda's milestone but also the legacy of Max Tamari. The gesture goes beyond words, echoing the sense of community that defines our corps. Rachel's kind words further enriched the experience, creating a tapestry of appreciation and shared history that will endure for years to come.
